These are tools, services, and books that I use and recommend. (Affiliate links attached.)
As a VA, I use many online tools for clients. Here’s one that I know very well and recommend to entrepreneurs as a way to have everything (prospects, customers, ezine delivery, autoresponders, shopping cart, reporting, and an affiliate program) all in one place.
Images
I recommend using images for blog posts, Facebook business (fan) pages, and everywhere you can think of. I used istockphotos.com for years, but they got a little too spendy (Oregon term for expensive). I’ve now migrated to StockFresh for low-cost, attractive images:

Get Clients Now was my “marketing bible” when I was first starting out, and I think it still stands up today. It along with Virtual Assistant — The Series are the texts I use to teach “Creating a Virtual Office” at Portland Community College (OS 250).
A client gave me Tribes, and I really enjoyed it. Seth Godin is a marketing guru who explains concepts in easy-to-understand ways.
Remember, without marketing, you don’t have clients or a business. My favorite marketing quote is by Jay Conrad Levinson (Guerilla Marketing):
“I hate to admit this, but mediocre marketing with commitment works better than brilliant marketing without commitment.”
Training:
I’m a big fan of Lynda.com for my ongoing training needs. From the basics of Microsoft Office to graphics programs to WordPress…they have it all on video when it’s convenient for you!
